FOR KIDS

FOR GROWN-UPS
Luke 2:49 - Jesus, aged 12, was in the temple when his anxious parents came looking for him. He said, "Why were you looking for me? Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?"

Our vision is to see children discovering a close relationship with God their Father by the time they reach the end of Primary School. Jesus was 12 when he amazed adults with his questions; we’d like to be amazed by our children!

'Walk with Jay' is a series of DVDs that offer children aged 7 - 12 a way to understand that God wants to have a real relationship with them, and is interested in the issues that affect them every day. Over the series children can learn about having a two way conversation with God, and how the Bible is relevant to them as well as adults.

The'Walk with Jay' series is about how children can learn to walk with God, facing issues that can come up in any child’s life, like arguing, feeling lost and alone, being left out of things. A recurring theme is what happens when we do something wrong, how that hurts God, others and ourselves, and how to try and put things right.

ABOUT JAY
The series uses a central character, Jay, who helps the children find their way through difficult situations. He is funny, engaging, but most of all, communicates sensitively and helpfully. He doesn’t solve their problems for them, but he points them to God as their Helper, and the Bible as His “Instructions for Life”.

ABOUT US
Co-writers, Nick Willoughby and Sarah Robinson have worked together for the past 7 years. They have written, produced, and acted in a number of stage productions with children and adults of all ages, and created a number of short sketches and dramas for churches. In 2007 they made a short film, "Mikey", which was aired on UCB TV; in 2011, their short film, "Remember Me" won an award at the Basingstoke Film Festival, and was awarded four stars at the British International Amateur Film Festival in 2012. Both films involved working with children from their churches and the local community. They have a passion for communicating through stage and video media, telling stories that resonate with Christian and non-Christian audiences alike.

The 'Walk with Jay' series was an idea that grew over a period of time as they saw increasing numbers of children “dropping out” of church life at around the time they started secondary school. “We wanted to create a resource for Children’s Church leaders and parents to use with their children that would help them to see the Bible as God’s communication to them, not just to adults, and that God is interested in them, wants to help them and have a real relationship with them as individuals.”
